And then the other day I saw this woman's blog with a list of all the things she wanted to teach her daughter. So this week my post is all about the things I want to teach my daughter:
- You are a wonderful daughter of God.
- I love you more than anything.
- Friends and boys will come and go, but your family is here forever.
- Modest is hottest.
- Disneyland is always fun, no matter what Dad says.
- Dad will always love you more than any other boy ever will.
- Beauty is a state of mind, not a state of body.
- The world needs your point of view.
- My closet is always open to you.
- Food is a joy.
- No matter how old you get you are and will always be my little baby.
- No prayer request is ever too small, too silly, or too embarrassing to share.
- Inevitably we will splinter each other's heart, but we will tweeze them out together.
- Staying up late to read a good book is never time wasted.
- Sometimes crying is the only thing that will make you feel better and my shoulder is always there for you.
- Forgiveness is divine.
- Laugh as loud as you can.
- Always speak kind words to others.
- The saviour is always the best comforter, but I'm a close second.
- Saying sorry first is a strength, not a weakness.
- Long hair requires a really good conditioner.
- God made all things beautiful, that includes you.
- Always think twice before cutting your hair.
- When it comes to help with homework, always go to Dad for math.
- If you happen to fail at something, don't give up, keep on trying.
- There is always a silver lining.
- I will be your best friend, but being your mother will always come first.
- Everyone has their own opinions, but your opinion about yourself is the most important.
- History is fascinating.
- The world is beautiful, so stop and enjoy it every once in awhile.
- Have patience with me, I'm doing my best.
- Grandma's house is always a good place to run away to, just let me know when you leave first.
- Don't be afraid to be silly, crazy, and weird.
- Challenge yourself.
- Be the change you wish to see in the world.
- If it makes you uncomfortable, don't do it, say it, or wear it.
- The atonement is the best gift you will ever receive. Use it, but don't abuse it.
- It's never too late to tell the truth.
- Bad haircuts grow out eventually, invest in a good hat.
- There is no such thing as perfect.
- You can always come home.
- Nothing could make me love you less.
- You are everything I had imagined.
- It's okay to be scared. Put on a brave face and keep going anyway.
- You are never too old to dress up for Halloween.
- If I'm hard on you, it's only because I know your full potential.
- I will never expect you to get straight A's as long as you are really trying your hardest.
- Don't worry, Daddy will kill all the spiders.
- Don't be surprised if your Dad and I are hard on your first date.
- Write down your best memories, you don't ever want to forget them.
